AUSTRALIAN BUREAU OF STATISTICS
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is Australia’s national statistical agency, providing official statistics on a wide range of economic, social, population and environmental matters of importance to Australia.
The National Centre for Crime and Justice Statistics (NCCJS) is a specialised statistical centre within the ABS population statistics program that produces a broad range of products providing information about the level and nature of crime experienced in Australia and people’s contact with each sector within the criminal justice system.
The ABS outputs a number of annual administrative data collections and crime surveys that collect and publish statistics relating to family, domestic, and sexual violence.

AUSTRALIAN HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION
The Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) undertakes and coordinates research into human rights and discrimination issues, including issues relating to family, domestic and sexual violence.
In addition to producing various reports, brochures, and fact sheets around family, domestic, and sexual violence, the AHRC also conducts national surveys to investigate the prevalence, nature, and reporting of sexual harassment in Australian workplaces, university campuses, and the community more broadly.

AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF CRIMINOLOGY
The Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) is Australia’s national research and knowledge center on crime and justice, compiling trend data and disseminating policy-relevant research of national significance by generating a crime and justice evidence base.
The AIC outputs a number of regular and ad hoc publications - including extensive research and statistical reports, and shorter statistical bulletins - exploring a variety of topics related to family, domestic, and sexual violence.

AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF FAMILY STUDIES
The Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) is a governmental research body that seeks to increase the understanding of family well-being and the issues that affect Australian families.
AIFS manage a research program exploring issues related to family, domestic, and sexual violence, and the impacts that these issues have on various domains of personal and family well-being.

AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF HEALTH AND WELFARE
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) is Australia’s national health and welfare statistics agency. It produces reports and other information products on a wide range of key health and welfare issues in Australia.
The AIHW maintains a number of datasets that contain family, domestic, and sexual violence data in relation to various topics, including child protection, homelessness, housing, and hospitals admissions.
In addition to analysing and reporting on data it has custody of, the AIHW research program also draws on other external data sources through data partnerships with other organisations in the family, domestic, and sexual violence field.

AUSTRALIA'S NATIONAL RESEARCH ORGANISATION FOR WOMEN'S SAFETY
Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety (ANROWS) is an independent, not-for-profit company established as an initiative under Australia’s National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022 (the National Plan). It manages a national research agenda on behalf of the Australian Federal and state and territory governments, with the purpose of developing a cohesive and comprehensive national evidence base that is relevant to policy and practice and actively contributes to the National Plan outcomes.
ANROWS produces and publishes a range of family, domestic, and sexual violence research through its suite of publications. The publications aim to meet the evidence needs of policy-makers and practitioners as well as the broader public.

BUREAU OF CRIME STATISTICS AND RESEARCH, NEW SOUTH WALES
The Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) is a statistical and research agency within the New South Wales Department of Justice. It conducts research on crime and criminal justice issues and problems, including family, domestic, and sexual violence, and monitors trends in crime and criminal justice.
In addition to conducting research, BOCSAR also develops and maintains statistical databases on crime and criminal justice in New South Wales, including crime, criminal court, and custody statistics, which are updated annually or quarterly.

CRIME STATISTICS AGENCY, VICTORIA
The Crime Statistics Agency (CSA) is responsible for processing, analysing and publishing Victorian crime statistics, independent of Victoria Police. It publishes regular statistical releases of reported crime data and undertakes research and analysis activities into recorded crime and criminal justice issues and trends in Victoria.
In addition to the regular publication of crime statistics, the CSA maintains a comprehensive database of recorded crimes in Victoria and maintains databases on behalf of other agencies as data custodians. This includes the maintenance and development of the Victorian Family Violence Database, which holds data on the incidence and characteristics of family violence in Victoria.

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
The Department of Social Services (DSS), in partnership with state and territory governments and other key stakeholders, commissions and funds work to help contribute to a significant and sustained reduction in violence against women and their children in Australia, through the implementation of the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-2022 (the National Plan)

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE RESOURCE CENTRE VICTORIA
The Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV) is a non-profit organisation supported by the Victorian Department of Human Services. It is a state-wide resource centre working to prevent and respond to family violence, with a particular focus on men’s violence against women in intimate relationships.
The DVRCV has conducted research examining how technology is being used by perpetrators to stalk and abuse women, as well as how these technologies may be used to support and improve women's safety. Information about this research can be found on the DVRCV's SmartSafe website.

'END DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE,' QUEENSLAND
The Queensland Government’s ‘End Domestic and Family Violence’ initiative is the result of the findings of a Special Taskforce on Domestic and Family Violence established in 2014. The findings from this investigation were published in the report ‘Not Now, Not Ever: Putting an end to domestic and family violence in Queensland.’ Following this the Queensland government implemented the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Strategy 2016-2026.
‘Not Now, Not Ever: Putting an end to domestic and family violence in Queensland’ and other resources, including an audit of Domestic and Family Violence services (2014-15 financial year) conducted by KPMG, can be found on the 'End Domestic and Family Violence' website (run by the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women).

OFFICE OF THE eSAFETY COMMISSIONER
The Office of the eSafety Commissioner is responsible for promoting online safety for all Australians and leads the online safety efforts of government, industry and the not-for profit community.
The Office of the e-Safety Commissioner also publishes resources and research relating to image-based abuse (including a national survey commissioned in 2017), and runs the eSafetyWomen website, with resources designed to help educate Australian women about managing technology risks and abuse.

OUR WATCH
Our Watch is Australia’s national body for the prevention of violence against women. It uses an evidence-based approach to violence prevention to drive nationwide change in the cultures and behaviours that can lead to violence against women.

QUEENSLAND CENTRE FOR DOMESTIC AND FAMILY VIOLENCE RESEARCH
Funded by the Queensland Government since 2002, the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research (QCDFVR) is supported by CQUniversity to be a resource for the domestic and family violence sector, and since 2016, for the sexual assault sector.
The primary purpose of QCDFVR is to create and share knowledge to influence policy and practice in domestic and family violence prevention, and provide information on a variety of current and past research projects focused on domestic and family violence.

VICTORIAN HEALTH PROMOTION FOUNDATION
The Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth) is an organisation that focuses on promoting positive health outcomes and the prevention of chronic disease. As part of this work, VicHealth undertakes research across a variety of sectors to better understand the root causes of violence against women, and publishes resources relating to violence against women on their website.

WHITE RIBBON AUSTRALIA
White Ribbon Australia is a national public education and primary prevention campaign to end male violence against women. It provides free resources covering topics of research on domestic violence, violence against women, and abuse.

WOMEN NEW SOUTH WALES
Women New South Wales is the New South Wales Government Unit responsible for developing policy and strategy in a number of areas, including family and domestic violence, violence against women, sexual assault, and safety and justice for women. Part of Women New South Wales’ work is to conduct research, and collect and publish data on key indicators of women’s equality.
The Women in New South Wales reports examine gender equity against indicators in crucial areas, including safety and justice. Other relevant publications containing family and domestic violence data include the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme Evaluation and Crisis Assistance Scheme Review and Domestic and Family Violence Leave in New South Wales – Findings from a Survey of Selected Corporations in New South Wales.
